SDHBA Celebrates at the 35th Annual Convention

The South Dakota Home Builders Association held its 35th Annual Convention in Yankton November 6-7. 2014, officers were installed, with Tim Frohreich, Yankton, being sworn in as President. South Dakota Lieutenant Governor Matt Michels was the keynote speaker, discussing new partnerships with SDHBA and the State of South Dakota.
Four individuals were inducted into the SDHBA Hall of Fame, including Ralph Siemonsma from Spearfish, Gregg Lebert from Sioux Falls, Charlie Beatch from Sioux Falls, and Mike Jung from Aberdeen.
Named Builder of the Year was Mel Zelmer from Tea. Curt Cartwright from Rapid City was awarded Associate of the Year. Spike of the Year for new membership recruitment was awarded to Kevin Zomermaand from Sioux Falls. The SDHBA Board Member of the Year was awarded to Todd Boots from Tea. Project of the Year was awarded to the Watertown Area Home Builders Association for their Habitat for Humanity build. Named 2013 Friend of Housing was Mark Lauseng from the South Dakota Housing Development Authority. Special Presidential awards went to Mel Zelmer from Tea and Mike Jung from Aberdeen.
